Breathing Beloved is about being.
It's about tossing out all the striving to be everything we're told we should be by our culture, our families, our friends, even the church and always our own devising.
It's living out who God says that you are
in light of who He is.
Breathing Beloved is about living...really living.

I want to BE out of this; this "Beloved-ness".
And I want that for you too.
My passion is to PROCLAIM the gospel of Jesus and INSPIRE people to believe so that we can live lives of authenticity and freedom in step with our Creator!
I really enjoy being with my husband and kids whether we're camping, road tripping or at a baseball tournament! But alone...I love to hike. Mountains have always been my favorite, but I won't say "no" to a walk along a beach cliff or a saunter in the sand!
I also relish a cold day, a hot fire, a cozy blanket and a good book!
To see, know and love people is the heartbeat of my speaking ministry. My sessions are biblically anchored using stories both serious and funny for explanation and clarity. Structurally, I can accommodate any theme and presentation style (free flow, notes, digital presentation, etc). I will typically have an outline of some sort, but don't necessarily depend on it. I like fielding spontaneous questions and I particularly enjoy it when the Holy Spirit does a one-eighty and we just roll with Him! When I come to speak at your event, you will find me getting to know your people in between sessions, even meeting (women) one on one for prayer, counsel and encouragement!
I so enjoy the creativity in writing and how the written word can get to the deepest parts of our souls! I've been writing inspirationally since I could hold a crayon. Writing is a fun way to communicate...until you try and write a book.

Haha! I'd say "kidding!" but I'm kinda not. Facebook posts, Christmas newsletters, worship services, essays and articles are those writing projects that come most naturally and the ones that spurred many to suggest,
"Carissa, you need to write a book!"
So finally, after years of saying I would...I am.
Breathing Beloved: Living Out Who God Says You Are In Light of Who He Is
(absolutely a working title)
is on schedule to be released in
November of 2023.
There. I said it.
I guess my friends now know what they're getting for Christmas!
This aspect of Breathing Beloved
caught me off guard.
After my dad was diagnosed with macular degeneration, I started to look for something more natural that could help him. God dropped LifeVantage in my lap and I realized that there was a whole part of my passion for wellness that I was missing.
The physical.
Which seems silly since that's

After my dad was diagnosed with macular degeneration, I started to look for something more natural that could help him. God dropped LifeVantage in my lap and I realized that there was a whole part of my passion for wellness that I was missing.
The physical.
Which seems silly since that's usually the first thing we think about
when we think about being "well".
I said "yes" to LifeVantage because the science does not promise a quick fix or a bandage, it goes after wellness at a cellular level.
LV activates the body, moving toward functioning the way it was intended to function; dealing with the compounding effects of oxidative stress.

My husband Darryl and I were born, raised, met and married in Washington State. Noah, our oldest, was born shortly before our 7th anniversary
and Lincoln came along four years later. Koufax, our golden retriever rounds us out nicely!
In January of 2021, we committed to "Let God Lead" as our motto for the year. We began to listen in prayer, instead of just talk at God.
By April 2021 we knew something was up.
By August 2021 we visited Amarillo, Texas "just to look"
and left with a contract on a property in Bushland.
By January 2022, we moved from Washington State to the Panhandle of Texas.
Darryl and I have been married nearly 25 years.
And they have been exciting, dull, hilarious, sad, fun, scary, happy, angry, close, distant, joyful, painful, powerful, remarkable years.
And every one amazing.
We have had the most enjoyable measures of grace!
Wonderful and supportive extended family, the coolest friends, great church families, good jobs and fun hobbies.
And we've had "grace disguised", as Jerry Sittser puts it.
Just because two kids "ask Jesus into their hearts" when they're 5 doesn't mean they know what they're doing when the "I do's" come along.
And we didn't.
Darryl and I stumbled through our first 3 years of marriage.
But we submitted to the leadership of a good counselor
and the wisdom of God.
It's a good thing, or I'm not sure we would have made it through Darryl's dad's sudden death, Noah's brain surgery at 3 years old, an accident that left Darryl with two broken wrists and a cracked skull, my ruptured brain aneurysm and a rather sudden move to Texas.
And don't even get me started on 2022! Goodness!
Goodness.
For sure.
The goodness of God is weaved in and through all of it.
We have and will make it...not because we've got it figured out,
but because God does.
Not because we're good,
but because He is.
These two.
They are an EXPERIENCE!
Noah is a worshiper at his core. Deep and expressive. He can easily hang with an adult conversation about almost anything.
He's passionate and a bit of a perfectionist; strong, athletic, intelligent, kind.
His work ethic is second to none of kids his age and he is thoughtful and reliable. Noah is a bit of an overthinker (he gets that from his mother) and sometimes uses too many words (he gets that from both his mother AND father!) Noah enjoys baseball and basketball, hanging out with his friends and working with his hands.
Lincoln is an empath at his core. Emotionally intelligent and thoughtful. Life can be overwhelming for this kid as he feels what others are feeling and sometimes takes their reality on himself. It is truly a remarkable way to be wired and sometimes challenging to parent, but such an adventure! I love to be around him because he lives out the Father's heart in ways that are unique in my experience. Lincoln also enjoys baseball and basketball and has a remarkable ability to recall the most seemingly insignificant sports trivia!
Many parents joke about the "teen years" as something to be dreaded, or "put up with".
I can't get enough of these boys.
Every year has been an adventure!
An exciting, sometimes scary, and very expensive (haha!) adventure!
